Alicante Airport: 
Alicante Airport is a busy international airport serving as a gateway to the popular Costa Blanca tourist resorts. The airport was previously known as El Altet. Alicante is well liked by Irish visitors and Ryanair is the airline flying most people in and out of the airport with around 59 operating routes. 
The airport is conveniently located approximately 9km south west of Alicante. This is the favourite entry point for visitors with a large proportion making their way to the resort of Benidorm. 

Flying to Alicante from Ireland:
Ireland to Alicante is a short flight time of less than three hours away with Ryanair offering frequent flights from Dublin. Connecting flights are also available from Cork and Knock. 

Getting there:
On exiting the airport follow signs for the main A7 Autovia de Mediteranni. This is a motorway in great condition and well signed. It is a toll road (like the majority of motorways in Spain), however it is cheap enough at just a few euros. It is also the best way to travel as it bypasses the town of Alicante completely allowing you to travel at a decent speed to your chosen destination.
